My Island is a contemporary drama inspired by the myth of Echo and Narcissus, set within the dynamics of a narcissistic cycle. Anna is camping on a Greek island with her partner, Alex. When their boat is swept away, he speaks of a village. She follows him. Step by step, the landscape becomes a trap.
Set in raw natural landscapes, the film unfolds like an open-air huis clos. It explores confusion, isolation, and psychological control, through the inner journey of a woman trying to survive the illusion.
Pierre Megos is a Greek-Belgian director and writer. His work explores Greek mythology through contemporary narratives, blending visual composition, physical presence, and filmed image in a singular language.
